Jocelyn West is a professional equine bit fitter and FEI dressage rider dedicated to helping horses and riders find comfort, clarity, and harmony in the contact.
With a deep understanding of biomechanics, communication, and performance demands, Jocelyn approaches each fitting as a tailored solution — never a one-size-fits-all answer. Every horse and rider are assessed as individuals.
As an FEI rider, she brings firsthand experience from the competitive arena, evaluating bitting choices through the lens of real-world performance. Her work focuses primarily on mouth comfort which leads to increased suppleness, relaxation and responsiveness, all while keeping the horse's welfare and long-term soundness front of mind.
Jocelyn collaborates closely with riders, trainers, and health professionals to deliver thoughtful, ethical outcomes for every partnership.
In-person consultations include a full assessment, ridden trials with a range of bits, and a written recommendation.
A comprehensive snaffle fitting session including conformational assessment of the mouth and palate, multiple bit trials under saddle, and a personalised recommendation tailored to your horse's stage of training and way of going.
A detailed double bridle consultation for advanced and FEI-level horses. Includes assessment of bradoon and weymouth pairing, curb adjustment, and ridden trials to refine communication at the upper levels.
